Planning Commission Minutes

Public Hearing
On Monday, March 6, 2006, at 7:15 pm Planning Commission Vice Chairman, Carl Sanford called the Public Hearing meeting to order. The purpose of the Public Hearing was to discuss the insertion of the definition of Upland in the Chapter 200 Princeton Township Ordinance.  Other Planning Commission Members present were Steve Heinks, John Roxbury, Jr., Larry Ziebarth, Loren Kohnen, and Todd McLouth. Chairperson Eric Minks arrived later on in the Hearing.

Vice Chairman Carl Sanford explained the purpose of the Hearing was to consider revising Chapter 200 definition within the Princeton Township Ordinances by inserting the word upland and its definition. Connie Heinks indicated that there were no written comments. Carl Sanford indicated that Princeton Township had no description of the word upland. The insertion was: "Upland" (Residential R-1 District) means a natural and contiguous portion of the lot area which is exclusive of existing wetlands, flood plain, flood fringe, flood way, drainage ways and utility easements and exclusive of proposed ponding areas, drainage swales, and utility easements.

Mildred Schimming asked if the purpose of defining upland was to come up with measurements, or to talk about what upland is. Carl Sanford informed her that it was just to define upland.

A motion was made by John Roxbury, Jr., and seconded by Eric Minks to close the Public Hearing at 7:29 pm. Motion Carried.
