Planning Commission Minutes
Public Hearing #1
On Monday, October 2, 2006, at 7:15 pm, Planning Commission Chairperson
Eric Minks called a Public Hearing to order. The purpose of the Public Hearing
was to discuss a Conditional Use Permit for Katherine Schrautemeyer, Section
34, to operate a Pet Grooming Business. Other Planning Commission members
present were Larry Ziebarth, Carl Sanford, Eugene Stoeckel, Greg McBroom,
and John Moosbrugger. Tom Braun was absent.
Katherine Schrautemeyer explained that she purchased a home and is converting
the garage into a pet grooming business. She indicated that she has a very
long driveway and the parking will be up by the home, and that customers will
just be dropping off their pets with a turnaround time of about 3 hours.
There were no residents present who wished to speak.
A motion was made by Eugene Stoeckel and seconded by Larry Ziebarth to close
the Public Hearing at 7:20 p.m. Motion Carried.
Regular Monthly Meeting
On Monday, October 2, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. Planning Commission Chairperson
Eric Minks called the Regular Monthly meeting to order.
A motion was made by Greg McBroom and seconded by Eugene Stoeckel to approve
the minutes of September 11, 2006 as printed. Motion Carried.
The next item up for business was to discuss the Public Hearing for a Conditional
Use Permit for Katherine Schrautemeyer, Section 34, to operate a pet grooming
business. Chairperson Eric Minks asked Ms. Schrautemeyer if she was all right
with the six conditions that Loren Kohnen recommended. She indicated that
she was not very happy about Condition #4, but the conditions would be OK.
Greg McBroom motioned to recommend to the Town Board, approval of the Conditional
Use Permit for Katherine Schrautemeyer to operate a pet grooming business
with the following conditions that Loren Kohnen recommended:
1. Hours 7:00 am to 9:00 pm.
2. C.U.P. is not transferable
3. No employees.
4. All water used for pet grooming must go to a holding
tank, not into septic system.
5. Home occupation sign may be provided on the property;
not to exceed 2' x 3' in size.
6. No animals allowed outside of building.
Carl Sanford seconded the motion. Motion carried.
The next item up for discussion was the Landsplit Application for Judith
Bergeron, Section 35. Ms Bergeron explained that she just wants to split her
property in order to one day possibly build a home. She has no immediate plans
of any kind but would also like to have three separate parcels in case she
ever wanted to give some property to her three children.
Carl Sanford motioned to recommend to the Town Board the approval of the
Landsplit Application for Judith Bergeron. Eugene Stoeckel seconded the motion.
Motion Carried.
The next item up for business was to discuss interest of appointment to
the Airport Advisory Committee. Eugene Stoeckel expressed interest in being
appointed.
Chairperson Eric Minks motioned to move up open forum so interested parties
could speak before the discussion of the Comprehensive Plan. Larry Ziebarth
seconded the motion. Motion Carried.
Larry Doose was present to discuss options on a Township Park at New Life
Christian Center, per Town Board. After some discussion it was decided by
the Planning Commission that this issue could be addressed in the revision
of the Comprehensive Plan. A motion was made by Greg McBroom to recommend
to the Town Board to further pursue the idea of a Township Park with New Life
Christian Center. Larry Ziebarth seconded the motion. Motion Carried.
Sondra Erickson was present during open forum and addressed the Planning
Commission regarding some campaign issues.
The next item up for business was the discussion of the Comprehensive Plan.
The Planning Commission reviewed two pages of the old Comprehensive Plan and
made some changes.
A Motion was made by Greg McBroom and seconded by Tom Braun to adjourn the
meeting at 9:00 p.m. Motion Carried.
